more players on map

Being able to make a small map and have 8 or so other civilisations

I used to play like that at times in Civ2 Test of Time. To me it was a real ball, having a small map and 7 other civs to contest with, battles happened very early and civilisations would fall here and there.

Please bring back the ability to select the amount of civs on each map Firaxis!

Sorry for such a simple and old question, but how do I exactly set more players on smaller maps?
I've not been playing for sometime...

You have to go into the Civ3 editor. In there there is the option for max amoutn of civs depending on the map size. Sorry I don't have more specific directions but I don't have Civ3 at work.

Merging this thread with another as they are the same.
Merging causes interesting results. Look at the times. The thread title comes from the "2nd" post since I merged the thread that was posted first with the second (the second thread had a better title IMHO).
