Morrowind!

I solve that problem by not selling or collecting everything I find, since there really isn't a need to.

Money money money money money!

EDIT: Hmm, if you repeat a word enough it loses all semblence of meaning and looks silly and possibly a stupid arrangement of shapes.

yes, yes it does.
Occasionally I'll suddenly think.. couch.

couch couch couch couch couch couch couch couch

what a freaking weird spelling! :crazyeye:

I think the problem is that gamers tend to loot everything they can that can be resold and/or exchagned for wanted goodies and money. Usually people in real lfie aren't keen on taking even the dirty undrclothing off people little alone able to find someone to buy it at a worthwhile price.
That is a very good point. I, however, do that also because unburied bodies (read "un-looted" in Morrowind) clutter the save game after a while. Since I've apprehended that I've begun to bury bodies, sell everything I touch and no longer need to shops, and don't steal every little item I come accross. All of that means the game has less to remember during a next save.

True, but read the above. If you let bodies persist your save file will get more and more complicated.

I think a better money system would help, as well as a bit of supply and demand changing affecting prices.
There are mods that do that and I am looking forward to testing them. I would not mind if Morrowind was re-released and pay for it too!

When selling, holding down your mouse key should increase or decrease the amount of gold rapidly, right? So why does it seem that it only works occasionally? Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. So anyone else have this problem?

I fail to see the problem... I like bodies sticknig aronud, that way I know something happened and it's not more of the same bloody ashland I've been getting lost (I often end up going a little off to one side or too far or into the wrong valley to get to places) in for the last month. I looted what I wanted from the bodies and left what I didn't, they would disappear eventually anyways. You should have seen how much stuff I had in my houses... one game I had MOUNTAINS of stuff in the main entrance room to one house, and another couple of mountains in my flying mobile base, plus various extra display cases, mannequins, half-finished collections and NPCs.

Simply cleaner saves.

They do?!!!!!!! When? How? Wh....

I know :smug: In my last game I just moved in into my personally-designed house. It took me 2-3 hours with my Strength at 10000 (or some huge value like that) ;)....

It's so much easier to decoreate your hosue in Morrowind though, the physics in Oblivion are.. rough and a bit buggy. I've seen my silverware slowly sink through my table.

Bodies disappeared in about 3 days I think, some are marked as permanent but most are not.

And I don't understand about cleaner save, why would it matter? There is so much stuff in the game as it is :p

Great! I should check that as soon as I can. It would make things a lot easier!

Any object you modify vis-a-vis the original status of Morrowind adds information to Morrowind save file. Thus if you move an object, steal one, or leave a cave decorated with dead bodies the saves take more time and space. It has been known for longer games to take proportionally longer time to save and load.

You don't have to pick it all up.

Role play a little!

Of course I do! ;)

Role play a little!
I have to do that. The trouble is that there's only one character I'm playing who is supposed to complete most (all is impossible) of quests, get most items and become a semi-godlike hero of Morrowind (think of Heracles). The ones I actually role-play usually get stuck somewhere around the third level.

Continuing here, I have found that ONLY Arill in Seyda Neen allows this, I can add about 200 gold in three seconds, all others, one click one gold. Hold down the mouse button, nothing happens. It's REALLY annoying now (particularly as I am playing a merchant type character). Anyone else have this problem or knows how to fix it?

Edit: I figured it out. I just had to turn down the FPS cap in the Morrowind.ini file.

I decided it was about time I had a go at Morrowind and so played it for the first time yesterday evening. I installed several mods, based on this interesting game diary (which was also what spurred me on to trying the game), but in the end only ran with the graphics enhancing ones like better bodies.

It's tough. In the first few minutes of playing I died twice, once at the hand of a mysterious leathery guy who appeared and stabbed me while I was resting to recover health, and secondly at the teeth of a pair of rats at Thelas' place. Sigh.

Leatherly guy is from the Tribunal Expansion. You either have to side-step the main quest and deal with him (them) or unplug "Tribunal" until you are strong or interested enough to do that expansion.

Otherwise you'll spend 4 hours resting and killing them only to have the game slow to a crawl from the lag of all the corpses xD And then be like "screw that" and go do the thing that turns them off (I forget).

Fine, fine I get it

It's alright, I managed to take the guys out once I realised that unlike in Oblivion, you can't just march into fights unprepared and expect to win. I find it quite funny that when they appear and attack you they are confined to the location where it happened, meaning I was a bit surprised to find one still in the Balmora Mages Guild, and another in Thelas's house just standing there. Also, they drop some reasonably nice armour for me to sell.

Now, I might be imagining it but I think I'm stuck in the water in Vivec sewers (underworks?). I just wandered down there, killed a rat and jumped in the water, but now I can't seem to get back onto land as there's no slope suitable. I just swim up to the edge and can't do anything but turn back. If I swim out I end up in the city and it looks like a long way to any kind of ladder or escape. I tried googling this in various ways but found nothing. Any ideas?
