Most Aggressive Leader

i never had problem with him, those are really personal experience, and yes, they have personalities, unless u tick"randomise personality"

Most aggressive leader: Astax the Great
Favorite unit: Phalax
First appears: 1600 BC :)

There are parameters in the XML files that cause differences between leaders. For example a parameter that specifies how likely a leader is to build a wonder. Or how likely it is for him to declare war. How many and how specific these are can probably be found in the modding forum.

I'm going to check out the XML files tonight.

But I played a game last night with every one of these leaders. Inca boy was #1 the whole game, I was his neighbor, and he never declared war on me. I think that's because his religion crept into my lands.

Bismark, Montezuma, Alexander, Japan, Genghis, Napoleon, and Russia all declared war on me at some point in the game. And, they all declared war on me after 1600 even though I was within reach of both Napoleon and Germany for most of the game.

I think only Inca, Isabella, Caesar, and Cyrus* didn't declare war on me.

*was destroyed by Japan.

hmmm... each one has his own personality and it´s more or less agressive depending on wich factors. I really believe that south americans ones are nuts. Isabella goes crazy if it has diferent religion than you [and he has created some multy nation holy crusades against me some times], and saladin is just sneaky and a bit of religious. Alexander, gengis and the romans are pissed with you if they have you in your frontiers and you show any sign of weakness so i usually SHOW some of my armies so they can evaluate my military [and granting me protection from them].

Alex seems to be my next door neighbor in almost every game I've played and he is almost always the first to delare war on me. I hate him! Sharing religions is about the only way I have been able to keep him off my doorstep. Genghis and Monte are probably tied for second for me. Napolean is sometimes aggressive but usually not early on. He's also been my best bud in a couple games.

I don't know what all these numbers mean, but here are some snippets from the CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml file. I've only included the stuff that refers to war directly -- obviously the numbers that tell how much each leader cares about things like religion, trade, and civics will also matter a great deal.

That's really great, thank you.

maxWarRand is a nations patience before they declare war.

Rand must be thresholds for random numbers.

I'm not sure what the ratios do.

It looks like leaders like Montezuma are eight times more likely to declare war.
