Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. What is the most beakers that can be produced by one city? In a one city challenge I am doing my city got to 1320. Has anyone done better?

Check out the thread I started called "making your own map." About halfway down the first page Tim the enchanter put a screenshot of a occ city with 3700+ sheild per turn. I'm not quite sure how he did it... I replicated his map exactly, and got up to 1500 on the first try, and 2800 the next. Still, it is better than I have ever done before!

Ref. the man below. He should have tooted his own horn, not me, but hell, I'm impressed. Him and his killer rabbit

Funny you should ask this now, as I just looked into this in the making my own map thread.

The most I've gotten in the normal course of play from a random map is just under 2200 beakers. This was during the brief period between building a research lab and the discovery of flight to kill the colossus.

However, Using a custom designed layout that would never occur in a random map I was able to get a city up to 3672 beakers. The limiting factor there was that the AI trading partner city did not grow to it's full potential. Using the Cheat mode, I added a few citizens to the AI city and got it up to 3720 beakers. I'm pretty sure this is the max beakers you could possibly get.

Edit: looks like rponton beat me to it...

Thanks for that guys - 2200 beakers! Clearly I still have plenty to learn - although I too had that brief period between the research lab and the discovery of flight.

If I may ask Tim. What was the basic trade for your 2200 beaker city and the income from the three trade routes?

Cheers

My trade routes were +45 arrows each and the city had 248 total arrows, so I guess that makes 113 base trade after superhighways. It only had one trade special (silk) but the key was that it had 12 river squares. (With superhighways, rivers produce 6 arrows instead of 4). It also had a couple food specials to handle an extra einstein or two.
