Special units have never given me any trouble - I fear nothing (except nuke). At one point in one of my game, I was playing France and a stack of over 30+ Immortals heading my ways. And the worst part is that I have a total of 17 horsemen - there is no way in hell I can stand a chance against 30+ Immortals....but in the end, 11 of my horsemen survived and I gain three cities from Persia.

Am I good or what?
You probably are wondering how I did it...
1. I evacuated all units out of my cities and left it wide open for the taking. Therefore, that stack of Immortals moving through my lovely city street unchallenged.
2. While the enemy are enjoying the view of my lovely cities, I move my little stack of 17 horsemen to invade their homeland. Since my horsemen can move twice as fast, by the time they turned 180 degree around, it's already too late, I already got one of their city and moving toward the next.
3. I don't event bother defending these newly conquerred city. I just leave it wide open for those Immortals to retake it.
To make a long story short, I'm playing cat and mouse chase with that stack of dead until they are willing to sign a peace treaty. The moment I knew peace talk is possible. I threw everything I had to take three towns from Persia then I signed the peace treaty.

In most case, if I'm strong enough to fight, I will run away. There is really no shame in running away.
