Most memorable unit in the civ series

Planet Buster. I just love watching a huge chunk of an enemy continent just disappear. From SMAC, btw.

hmm i liked civ 3 imortals, legions, and biserkers, allso the galic swordsman
but over all i like civ 3 panzer.

In SMAC the best unit have to be the engine upgraded supply crawler. Once you have that, it is game over for your foes. For CIV3 my favourite unit is the elephant because its the prettiest unit.

I'm having fond memories of archers from civ2, using them a lot.
In civ3 it was the cavalry, great for conquest.
But it's the settlers and workers that give the most excitement, everybody else are just extras.

if you have SMAC/X involved here too, the best unit is a transport, built like a supply crawler.

unit workshop- fission reactor, chassis=infantry, weapon= transporter.

1-1-1, can carry 1 unit. oh, and extra prototype costs to boot.

:groucho:

Planet Buster with the Singularity Reactor. It makes your average Nuke look like a cheap piece of fireworks in comparision.

For the Civ-games, I'd probably go with the spies from Civ II. They could do a lot of nasty stuff to enemy cities.

the civ2 cav... their attacking sound is the hymn of world domination.

yeah yeah yeah! That's it! Civ2 unit sounds are just fantastic. I like the Civ2 cavalry also. I like the howitzer also for its power and the civ2 battleship just so majestic. I like the unit that was doing "fire!!!", i think it was the arty.

Civ1 - probably diplomat, don't know why really, just a cute guy.

Civ2 - I think war elephant, it was cool to pop it from the hut.

Well, may be I add mounted warriors.

Civ4 - Praetorians rule this game. They are also very cool.

For me, it's the Civ2 engineers with the power to (literally) move mountains. In one real world map game, I turned the Himalayas into a pleasant stretch of grass and prairie.

Civ1 knight. I don't why but it sticks out in my memory as the coolest one. I was very young at the time and then the knight somehow impressed me.
