enjoy i did, thank you for the insight. It seems that Portugual and England have had a longer relationship than i thought, i thought it was just a Napoleonic Wars thing. I guess i was wrong

In this battle im a bit surprised to see that wikipedia referres to england aiding us, since i rember studying this subject in school and the presence of england officers or aid was never mencioned....i think this is a wild claiming....although we all know spain and england was never cordial relationships....

it is weird that england has always hated france, and vice versa, but england not hating spain at all, or, to my knowledge, vice versa.

hu...didnt spain built the armanda invencivel against england in an failed attempt to conquer her? i dont think the relations after that ehre very famous, then again..thi sbatlle is prior to that.

america no doubt. just think a country about 300 hundred years old gone threw about 15 wars (some very small) and only lost 1, 2 if you count korea

Korea was a draw, but they lost so much land to China, who was several techs away from America
Vietnam - Lost
Afganistan - For some reason, they have not won it yet
Iraq - Won, but everyone hate America for it
Britian - Would have lost the revolution if France and Spain never helped
Lost some war in the 1840's to Britian

But Credit is given when deserve,
WWI
WWII
Spanish-American War

Anyway Mongols would have ruled the world if they were expert sailors.

If Gengis did not die so early, Europe would had been crushed by the Mongols.

Are you kidding, the English hated the Spanish as much as they hated Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries. The armada was only the tip of the iceberg in that conflict.

A fun topic that proofs but one thing : Men always want more than they can hold onto.

Got to give props to the Americans for not doing this after the WW2 when they had the bomb and basically were judge and jury. A victory for humanity and with that, a victory for all of mankind as humanity will be the deciding factor in wether we'll succeed as a species or not.

Oh I voted on the Romans even though I really should have voted for Germany pre-1945.

Yes, exactly, in the 15th and 16th centuries. Not really at all now.

Man, you guys really need to give more props to Alexander.
If we can agree that "best military" is relative based on era, can't we also assume that conquests are relative.
Alexander conquered 100% of what he knew was there.

Any chance America or the Soviets could conquer the Earth and the Moon?

I could also say China conquered 100% of what they knew. And i know China is WAY better than any greek with a huge head

USA definently. I mean, the USSR lost in Afghanistan. Afghanistan!

USSR definiently. I mean, the USA lost in Vietnam. Vietnam!

I must be having a deja vu moment when i read ur post Joe harker

100%??? That's extremely lafabal.

The Chinese certainly knew Japan, India, Africa, Siberia, Siam, Burma, Philippines, Indonesia and even Europe existed.

Russia AND america

Technically we won in Afghanistan when the Russians were there (we were supporting the resistance).

And we have yet to lose Afghanistan, as we have not pulled out and ran for home.

In the same way Russia won Vietnam.

I'm very surprised at the poll results. Mongolia had a hugely powerful military in comparison to others. The same cannot be said for the US military - it's too small.
