I wondered what your expert opinion is of the gigabyte GA-8I945GMF motherboard. Also do you know how good the built-in graphics card is , should it be only a stop gap? Or can you sugest a diffent board that ofers the same or more for less?
thanks

Is the like the motherboard setup for most bare bones systems that the chain stores try to sell? I don't know enough about how these work, but when I see the word "integrated" used with graphics or sound, I have doubts. Spending a little on that graphics accelerator card is more likely to give you top performance with what's coming out these days, anyway.

On-board graphics will do if you're using your PC to do mundane office/home stuff - surfing, email, word processing, watching DVDs etc. My PC at work has only on-board graphics and I can perform all my work-related tasks on it.

If you're gaming though, get a separate graphics card. ;)

Or you can get it and use it first, and decide later on whether you want a separate graphics processor in future.
