Everyone seems to assume MP will come out in an expansion pack. That could be a year, if it happens. Firaxis hasn't actually guarranteed that MP will ever come out .

That is the whole point. I like to get together with my buds; not sit at a desk typing my taunts. I'm not saying MP is a waste of time. It's just not for me. I can see why people would want it... I just can't see why some of the posts say that CivIII is a complete waste without it or that they won't buy it until there is an MP patch.

Personally my favorite way to play civ II gold was "hotseat" mode with my wife. That was fantastic for people who want to compete (or cooperate) with a human player but don't have access to two computers. So I just hope firaxis puts a hotseat mode in when and if MP comes out.

hotseat mod is probably the only way I will play multi-player.

Playing against real people is way more challenging and fun than playing against an ai. My only concern is the game is very slow to play and i wonder how feasible a multiplayer game would be time wise.
