MSN not working on Trillian

I am running into some difficulties trying to connect to the MSN IMer on Trillian. I constantly recive an error messages saying this in the status window. All the other IMers are working fine (AOL & ICQ)

[18:50] *** Failed to connect to MSN (-2146762751).

To note, I made sure I have all the info correct (IE, Email and Password)

I think that MSN made decision to not support trilian.

Hmm, is there an alternate Chat Medium to use for MSN IM, (Besides the one for MSN since that is not working for me)

Why would MS support a product is not made by them?

It's not about trillian. Wednesday, they were supposed to lock every third party app that didn't use the MSNP9 protocol. I don't use trillian, but I read they have a new version which support it, so upgrade it and it should work. Actually, most third party apps have found their way to make their software work with MSNP9.

Try gaim. gaim could connect to messenger.hotmail.com at port 18xxsomething

Anyway I quite hate the all in one IM.

And trillian surely has updates, since according to gaim's homepage, ceruleans studios are the one who contributed the MSNP9 stuff to gaim

MSN had an update which is now available for Trillian.

More accurately, Trillian developed an update (also provided to gaim ) which works around MSN's latest attempt to exclude third-party software.

This also goes for the Yahoo! update too.

Msn protocol is proprietary, so is method yahoo! messenger communicates and uses its own, yahoo! servers. This companies, tirlian and other, won't exist for long.
It is natural that designers of messengers want to have all benefits (profit) for themselves.

MSN once was an open protocol. And frankly, AOL tried to block that in the past too, and they failed. An instant messenger protocol, unless it's crypted is one easy to hack for someone who knows how to code. So I highly doubt complete messenger will disappear anytime soon.
