Arafat had the opportunity for peace in 2000, but he pissed all over it. And how is it that he amassed a large fortune while the Palestinian people lived in poverty? History will judge him very harshly IMHO.

So you would never grant Hitler a death wish? Some men do indeed deserve it.

Hitler was a tyrant, a genocidal maniac and a very sick, sick man (as in clinically insane). But he was a man. I wish he had never been born, and am as harsh as everyone should be on his defiling of the human race in general.

But i would not have celebrated the death of the man himself, but rather the death of the Nazi ideology and politics. Dying alone in a basement and shooting oneself in the head is not something I would wish to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Neither would dying in a hospital from a wasting disease. In my opinion, no crime is great enough to wish for the death of anyone as the result of it. But then we start the debate on the death penalty and I shan't start on that :p

I think Arafat did some very dark deeds in his life, but it is not human to do what a lot of people have done in this thread. The disrespect for human life in places like this thread and the gun cam thread is really disturbing.

How very noble you think you are. Let me assure you, I don't mock Arafat's death. I only mark it as a significant step towards peace in the Middle East. Furthermore, I see it as "Karmatic" justic for a very vile man.
I'm not for the death penalty, so we can end that debate right now, too :)
