multi player with a router

Do both PCs require a copy of PTW in order to play a multi-player game on two PCs connected with a router?

Yes. All players in a multiplayer game need to have PTW CD in the CD ROM drive.

to get PTW to play MP between two PC's you need two copies of PTW and an act of God.

I hate to differ guys, but my wife and I are able to play PTW and
original CIV III with only 1CD... we have not u[pgraded to the 1.14 patch in PTW...

If your LAN is set up as a network and you can share files with your other computers then PTW will work. Simply being on o router is not enough.

Start the game on one computer.. set it up as host.. then take out cd.. insert/start in 2nd computer.. join game... have 1st computer (still without the cd) launch the game and you are off and playing...

Have been able to play for 3-5 hours and save games to play another day...

why do u need a router to connect two PCs in a lan? a router is a complete different thing, u should use a hub.

and tehy told me going to teh Tech academy would never pay off
