is it possible to play a civ2 multiplayer game?and if so, can you cheat?

Yes, and I assume no.

To play multiplayer, you need the later versions, like MGE, but if you only have the lower versions, there is a patch by Cedric Greene.

Welcome newbie.

And is it possible to cheat with Multiplayer? I think that there are "sleazy" plays that may border on "cheating" -- different folks have different limits in that regard.

But I'm not the best respondant to that -- haven't played the multiplayer side of MGE.

One time i was playing a multiplayer game with my friend and for some reason his version lets him cheat but only when he is the russians and plays against me?? It is the weirdist thing ever. He made no changes to his game files.

On one of the other Civ II boards, there's a thread up where you can join a "pass around game" where people play for 15 or turns and pass the game on. It sounds like fun.
