Multi-session G&K game (GMT+12 @ 8PM)

Hmm well I don't claim to be an expert - I can't even kill Foffaren on some tundra island with Japan against his Inca because I am distracted by shiny expansion targets instead!

That's because he is improving and accumulating experience to counter your little tricks played on him previously:)
Such as stealing a worker

That stolen worker thing was actually Jake that taught me. My warrior was right next to the worker so it didnt make any difference.

And about the not being able to kill me on the tundra island. I havent pissed him off enough yet by settling on his "shiny expansion targets". Just a matter of time.

Oh, right, Is steals Zalta's settler. I guess that makes Islandia and Jake a good match for a team:lol:

Steal is such a harsh word. The settlers walked over onto my side of the river and wished to join the Greek empire. (To be fair I was on a peninsula and if he had settled I would have no ability to even set down a second city). The map was not a very fair one since Zalta and I were both blocked into a small narrow landmass and someone had to give way to build there.

Steal is definitely far too harsh. Workers are just sometimes available to be borrowed. Indefinitely. For free. :mischief:

And my MP experience is far more in CivIV than CiV but I played League games of CiV to learn the newer game quickly. (you either learn or die) Teamers are great for learning optimal starting strategies because your teammates will walk you through the opening 25 turns if you're newer to V.
SP I usually play Deity/Immortal.

My dream is to someday unlock the Steam achievement for beating the game on Settler difficulty. Someday...

Yes all my multiplayer experience is from Civ2 and Civ4 so there are drastic changes to the game in Civ5 that invalidate much of that experience. Plus back then I actually was young, had time to waste, and had killer reflexes, none of which applies now :)

 check, check, and check, and add to that list, I wasn't married and didn't have two kids that wake me up at six or earlier every morning.

Protecting worker&settler is in MP 101, but borrowing? Have you ever asked:lol:
I find I have rarely got my worker 'borrowed' even I left them unprotected, settler I always protect them. But the frequency of being borrowed worker is kind of related to how your opponent perceive you, ie. the possibility of retaliation that will do damage to the borrower vs. the damage done to the borrowed.

About deity/immortal, I think Jake may just need to be more ruthless and determined to win one of the series.

I know there is the private chat option, is there a group chat option in the game? What I meant is if we do a 3v3, it's best if 3 players in a team can see all chat inside the team.

If we're going to do that we should set up teamspeak or ventrilo. I have a ventrilo server if we are doing 6-8 people but it can't handle 25.

Also if you really need a sub for modern times I guess I'll play industrial blech!

If you are in a team there is all chat, team chat and private chat options.

If you want voip I use both Skype and Ventrilo extensively and have access to several Vent servers we can use if Skype doesn't work for ya'll.

And yes there are many factors when considering "borrowing" a worker. I generally only do it if there a) aren't any cs around to borrow from or b) the damage inflicted will be quite high on the civ and I don't mind making an enemy. (for example; I ALWAYS borrow worker early game from Babylon if I'm close as I also take the opportunity to raze their early Academy.)

the problem is I have no confidence on my spoken English. Also I guess Onan's kids will be sleeping.

Maybe just chat publicly, it's not like a trade secret or something.

Thanks for the sub:)

Great people tile improvement can be repaired.

Thanks, good to know there is team chat.

Yes on that note my girlfriend will be sleeping in the next room so maybe voip not ideal. (She isn't crazy like me, staying up all night to play Civ with people from all kinds of crazy time zones haha)

Team chat should be fine. What exactly is the format for the game we decided on?

Yes ofc can be repaired but remember you just stole their worker as well. Its just an increase in the lost opportunity cost for the Babylon player. They now need to build a new worker AND repair the academy; across all that time they aren't improving other tiles.
