Multiplayer FfH2?

Will you play without him?

I can set up a server and reconfigure my firewall. I am a master hacker. I finished Neuromancer.

Well, I'd think it'd take longer than 2 days to complete a game, but I'm up for whatever....

oh much longer than two days, my full games last multiple days of playing all day.. multiplayer takes even longer, by friday/saturday he means that for many of us it will be on friday and for others it will be saturday (due to different time zones). this will just be the beginning of a game, the rest will be on different days.

as for playing without him, im lookin for big games, i'll settle for a 3 person ffa, but 1 on 1 doesnt have enough crazy dynamics for me to really enjoy it, so i'll likely mess around in SL and listen to musik if we can't get more :P

I couldnt play tonite, I had band practice. I can play what we have set up Friday, and possibly Thursday. Im not opposed to having multiple games going, but I would like to try and keep Friday pretty standard if at all possible, and if everyones into it. I know I had a blast last time :D If we get more, its going to get crazy!

how do you do "light tundra?"

heh, maybe it was no tundra, I cant remember:p The settings sound good, but central pole?? that means crap land in the center right? I guess we could try that for something new (Im down for almost anything), but....as you can tell I am not a big fan of Tundra.

As for waiting for .15....why? This will be an ongoing venture. When .15 is available, we will swithch to that. I cant wait that long anyway :crazyeye:

0.15 is coming out next friday... We won't be able to switch to it if this is going to be ongoing...

well the thing about tundra, the only way to get rid of it that i saw was "no desert/snow/tundra" and thats bad.. then all land is either plains or grasslands O_o there's a "no snow" that still has tundra but has no ice, but that just means more tundra and no ice.

i don't mind tundra, its better than desert after all, and i like land thats not good for settling since it means barbarians will still be around in the late game.

you should try 7 continents, Shape: "less round, more fragments" and 65% ocean, oh and Wrap : "wrap x, central pole", it makes for interesting maps. I like the center ice thing because it puts a nice area where people can move troops through to get to others without worrying about border restrictions.

i usually keep the previous versions, we might want to play 0.14 again on friday the 11th just because when it first comes out its usually best for single player (multiplayer has its own problems, it doesnt need additional bugs from a new version that hasnt been mass tested yet). i'd feel more comfortable playing 0.14d than 0.15 in multiplayer until we've all gotten a chance to test out 0.15.

I was just pointing out a fact... I'd rather play 1 full game than a few that'll just be forgetten...

with large multiplayer games it can be hard to get a lot of people together consistently, thats why Quick game speed is usually a good idea.

two sessions or more for the 0.14 game should allow a decent amount of headway into the game, people will have to be active in order to seize victory.

last time one session involved two games lol, as we restarted after the first one went badly, and the second game saw us get into the mid tech era.

I agree wholeheartedly, although I do think we are starting to get a solid group going here. I think Sureshot has a good idea of playing 14d until the kinks of 15 are worked out. As for finishing games, once we get a set group there is on reason we couldnt finish a game in 2 or 3 sessions. The only reason we are starting over now is because there are more people that want to play. I think this will change once we get some permanate players.
