multiplayer question

when i try to do multiplayer by internet, it shows that there are no games, does anyone ever play anymore, and if they do does anyone have any suggestions on what might have gone wrong and how to fix it
FInally- do any begginers play that much?

It seems multiplayer is not very popular these days on Civ 3. Try fiddling around with your filters.
