I know you're not allowed to multiple heirs in the same training area (tactics, phil, etc), but can there be multiple children exploring?

Could i send all my kids out to just explore?

Yes you can have all your kids exploring! It's fun from a RP perspective. But it generally seems not as beneficial as simply picking an area of training.

I believe it's intended as a catch-all, in case you have too many kids at once to all be studying separate topics.

I'll train heir and spare, and any others I'll send exploring. If by chance I get an awesome exploring result I can always "free up" the succession line. ;)

ok, now i'm smelling variant SG . . .

"The Heir and the Spare." One must study something, one must be on walkabout. Oh, but there can be only two direct heirs, so if the ruler has a third kid . . . :hammer:

edit: maybe it's like "squish the lemon" where each new kid forces you to bump off the first in line. oof

I'm sure the second child is very glad to be known as the spare.

Princess Anne and Princess Charlotte don't seem to mind being the spares. Sure, Harry threw his toys out the cot and had a tanti, but the other two seem okay with it.

And the third child is the prayer (i.e., you pack them off to a monastery or episcopate). :D When the heir and spare die and you're left with the prayer, you get Louis IX. :p
