UX feedback: The turn cycle is a flickering mess

I've been playing the game for a couple of weeks now and I adore so many things about it, but every time I click "End turn" I just want to avert my eyes from the screen and it's really harshing my world conquering mellow. Here are the issues I'm having, specific to the turn cycle:

  • World elements flicker. Things like forests, city borders and parts of urban improvements (most notably the aquaducts of Jerwan Aqueduct). It seems like they sometimes get "undrawn" and then redrawn for no reason, even multiple times. The entire rendered world will flicker once sometimes.

  • Tooltip flickers as well, even if my screen and mouse location is static. I get that the computations during the turn cycle make tooltips dirty, but a single tooltip update after all computation is done should be enough?

  • The text on the "End turn"-button flashes by way too quickly to read, further creating a flickering effect. This alone would not be an issue, I think, but combined with above issues it exacerbates the problem.

These might seem like minor issues and many will not be affected by them, but I'm sure many are - even if only subconsciously. The first time I tried this game I got the sense of it being a low quality game, though I couldn't quite pinpoint why. Now I know that this is the reason - it's janky, and jank is the enemy of gaming.

Thank you for reading!

Im particular not fond of the redawn map elements. Not enough to not play the game. But sometimes I've seen entire river systems change shape. Obviously not in terms of where the rivers actually are, bust just the actual art asset of how the river looks.

I'm not sure if I've always noticed it but it became more noticeable with the wrath of Gods DLC so I wonder if it's connected to the way calamities are regularly changing tiles.
