Are the limitations on multiple leaders known for C3C?

Can you have multiple MGLs?

Can you have an MGL and a SGL at the same time?

Can you have multiple SGLs?

You can only have one military great leader at a time.

You can have a MGL and a SGL at the same time.

You can have multiple SGL at the same time. ( Just don't count on it, chance for a SGL are 3% for most civs, 5% for scientific civs)

My first time I got a SGL, I got two more( back to back) less than ~20 turns later :D Got to rush US,ToE, and HD.

That's great for you:D

But don't be surprised if next game you don't get any:(

Of course if you're playing on the lower diffculty settings, chances are you'll get a lot more due to the fact you're always be the first one to discover new techs.

Yeah, this was my first game in 3 playing conquests that I've finally gotten some SGLs :( ( my previous two were as the germans)

I was playing regent ( using sumerians for the first time), but it was such an easy game that I think I'm gonna try and step up to monarch :king:

Probably a good idea, you'll see that as you move in difficulty the game really becomes a lot more fun.

BTW welcome to CFC:D

I generally get 2 SGLs per game, and GLs I don't really keep track of. I generally do not attack until the Modern Era, but I am finding Industrial Era wars fun also . . .

I was playing "Fall of Rome" as the Visigoths (cheiftain level) and kept getting Military Great Leaders (I had lots of elite Warlords running around). I made the first two leaders into armies, but didn't have enough cities to use the third one for an army. I fortified it in my capital, intending to use it later, and then another elite unit won a victory, and another Military Great Leader showed up! I thought it was impossible to have two at the same time, but it certainly happened (two armies, plus two unused military leaders).

Do you have a save game? I know you can only have one military leader at a time so this may be a bug. Or maybe one of your leaders is actually a scientific leader. The only way to find out is if you can post a save or screen shot.

Actually a few players have reported having several SGL at the same time. Someone even got 2 in the same turn. Of course the odd of that happening are just plain awful, but it is possible.

I've had 2 SGL at the same time (not in the same turn though - but with 41000+ members of this forum some of these people will eventually get 2 in the same turned if it possible).

I got 2 SGLS at the same time. I researched philosophy & got the first, got literacy as a free tech and it created a second SGL. I rushed pyramids and great library at the same round. It was great.

I had 2 SGLs as well, like 2 times in my last 6 games
The first time, I got 2 in a turn and in my current game I got them like 20+ turns apart.
I think I also had 2 MGL before in a game quite some time ago, but not 100% sure on this one.

Of course

I'm playing the Rise of Rome conquest scenario right now and have three active MGLs. All have been converted to armies and I am in the process of just tromping all over Carthage. Using the 1.13 patch on Regent level.

I have a quick look for a saved game last night, I'll look a bit harder today. I know that none of the leaders was a scientific leader, because I tried to use each one to rush a great wonder, and couldn't do it. They also all appeared at the scene of a combat, and not in the capital.

I wondered if there had been a change to Great Military leaders now, a change made since they stopped being able to rush Great Wonders. Maybe now it is possible to get more than one at a time?:crazyeye:

I'm going to stick with my guns that you can only have one MGL at the time. For a complete explanation check out SirPleb's article on leaders in the War Academy.

http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3acad_leaders.shtml

However, the French in the Napoleon scenario start with 2 MGLs, Davout and Napoleon. I'm guessing the only way to have several is to create a scenario. According to my experience and the article, its impossible to have 2 at a time in the Epic game.

Not that I want to join in the discussion (I haven't played Conquest yet as I'm still finishing a huge old PTW game), but the article you're referring to is dated 10/5/03, so pre-C3C. It's not usefull for the discussion.

I want to see some screenshots too. That would settle the discussion (if it isn't a bug).

You mean you have 3 armies and no MGLs? Once you convert a MGL to an army, you don't have a MGL anymore.
