Music in Civ4 is...

Btw, anyone know what they are saying? I would be a little disturbed if they were incantations to some demon god or something.

It's the Lord's Prayer ("Our Father, who art in heaven..."), sung in Swahili.

So it's definately incatations to God. Whether it's a demon god depends on your personal choice of religion, I guess... :)

(ok, ok, no flame wars please!! :) )

One thing I really liked was how they worked in themes from previous versions of Civ into the soundtrack. Nice to have that little payoff from having played way too many hours of the Civilization series in the past. :)

The Baba Yetu really works to announce "This Is An Awesome Game!" when you're starting up. The snippet from "Nixon in China" is cool too...but it would be nice if it were longer. It goes from intriguing and nifty, to okay, and finally to monotonous if you're a freak like I am and sit through the entire credits.

Switching back to Civ obsession after playing various EA Sports titles on the GameCube makes for a pleasant change of pace in the audio department...and also goes to show that having a classically-trained musician as the President of your game company is a Very Good Thing.
