This is kind of a spring off of one of the topics on the Civ 4 suggestion forums. Instead of listening to the same music in Civ 3 which gets increasingly annoying, what music do you usually play?

I must say it adds a bit of flavor to have Queen blaring Princes of the Universe while I'm taking an enemy city. I feel like saying "There can be only one!"

I sure hope this hasn't been done...

I usually just WinAMP it with various choice albums. I mostly listen to relatively new songs and albums like Franz Ferdinand, The Music, Sam Roberts, The Tragically Hip, and most recently a band called The Killers. I'm also known for listening to CFOX, a relatively local radio station that plays some good music -- but also some fossil rock for the commutes to and from work.

Quick newb question. How do you play different music?

Turn the music off via the Ctrl-P preferences screen, and then play your musicplayer of choice in the background. If you go to the creation and customization forum, and look for the Tutorials forum, there is a tutorial there on how to add your own music to Civ.

I just listen to the standard Civ music....

Edit: Nevermind - I found one and it's not trivial.

music in civ3 is ok, untill you get to modern age, then it just REALLY annoys me, so a bit of Drum and Bass is in order. On an unrelated note as anyone played heroes of might and magic 2, it has THE best music of any game, that and MDK2.

HoMM III has pretty cool music too, but the Monkey Island series really kicks butt.

When it comes to civ I pull out my winamp and i start streaming some classical music.. it just kind've seems fitting.. except when I launch an invasion.. than i play Wagern's Ride of the Valkeries
