My brother hogs the internet speed.

There are many things (imo) my brother does on his computer to steal speed.

1. He plays Counterstrike all the time, which slows the other computers down.
2. He uses download accelerator plus and puts it on the high effeciency setting, which I'm sure slows downd the rest, because my computer and the home computer had laggy internet with dsl. Even to open google.com...

Once he complained of lag on his computer because I was downloading like 9 files at that time. Is there anything I can do to slow his computer down and make him lag to teach him a lesson?
I also know he's slowing us down because we recently got a speed change of dsl from 1.5mps to 3mps free. My brother tested our connection online and we got around 2.7mps. Then he got on CS and the other computer says it's only like 1.5mps. Is there any setting to use because this computer is the main one with the router hooked up to it first, or something. Anything I can do to make him lag?

I think stormbind has a spaming program that will launch will pop-up a whole lot of windows (you can go in the thousands) on his computer, and the only way to get out of the boxes is to click through each one.

Sounds like good payback to me.

Counterstrike really doesnt take much bandwidth at all -- I regularly play CS and other games and download stuff at the same time with not many problems. It's the file sharing that will be crippling your computer, I'm willing to put money on it. If he uses things like bit torrent or edonkey etc then make sure you limit the uploads - normally you get a nice 2mbit dsl line downspeed, but only 256kbps upspeed - that's the problem we had (sharing with 3 other guys last year... LOTS of downloading...) so you need to limit the uploads.

If that's not the problem, then I suggest you do what I did - make a winsock program which restarts his computer whenever you press "restart his computer" at your end

Like Mise said I can play CS, Civ3 Conquests, have mIRC open, talkin to multiple people on trillian and have itunes open and it won't be taking up much room

Best way to get back at him is to tell mommy

Any other way you might screw up his computer and then he gets yours ^^

As a rules of them I prefer not to tell other people what I have just done to their computer. Mostly because they have no idea what the thing is so they freak out and blame any problems on it.

Go download Ultr@VNC and install it on both comps (you'll have to sneak in to get his)

Set teh VNC server on his to
- automatically start at boot
- hide the tray icon
- prevent him from stopping the service
- lock him out of the keyboard & mouse when you're VNC'd in

Now, next time he's being annoying, VNC in to his PC and watch him go crazy

Yea he has bittorrent. He would also download one file of Ragnarok Online for like 3 days straight through bittorrent. But for these programs must I install anything on his computer? The only way I am connected to him is through our LAN router network.

Bittorrent and anything else that uploads through a network connection kills my PC off too... (Note to all - don't let your relatives play Gunz on a network PC - it kills all of it off.)
