My first HOF submission

I wanted to try a 20K victory on Chieftain. I used Sumeria for the Sci Trait. Unfortunately I didn't get a single SGL This made the game longer than I wanted. I had Ivory with 2 border expansions and was on river on the coast with 17 land tiles. I wanted coast for the Collosus. No cows/wheat though. I decided to OCC it and see what happened. End result: victory in 1740 AD. With a couple of early SGL's I probably could have approached the current record-holder.

Have you considered using Moonsinger/Dianthus' Mapfinder? While originally designed for getting high domination limits for huge maps it can also be set for bonus food and river locations. You'd find good starting positions faster...

I have yet to try the Mapfinder. I will try it out. Besides a few SGL's, the other other thing I could have used on that map was a few more bonus grass squares.

That's something Mapfinder is great for! It generates screenshots of the starting locations so you can see the tiles of the first position. Screenshots load a lot faster than .sav's. Moonsinger's also said that in the next version of Mapfinder we should be able to specify cows vs wheat vs deer.
