My government keeps getting overthrown!! Please help me!!

There are three civs left. France(me), China and Persia and we all have peace treaties. Most of my cities have virtually everyone happy.

About 2 turns after becoming a democracy Persia declares war and takes 2 cities from me.

As soon as my turn starts there is civil disorder in 90% of my cities and my democracy is overthrown putting me in anarchy. I even had entertainment at 20%.

Should I go back 10 turns and continue in Monarchy??

I am getting very frustrated.

As soon as you turn into Democracy, your units in the city (military police) no longer keep the citizens happy. I would go back to your previous save and find a way to make your citizens happier (improvements and luxuries) so that when you switch to Democracy you'll be better prepared. Also, war weariness is more severe in Democracy, which is probably compounded by the other unhappiness, but I'm surprised it kicked in on your first move in war.
