My Mod wont work after patch, help please: TXT_KEYs are showing up

I do trust you but have you seen the Byzantium mod?

It does look like duplicate TXT to me and it works?

Well you was quite correct, duplicate names.

I was being a bit thick yesterday and thought when you said duplicate names I was looking for the same name twice in my own mod, I didnt think you meant what was already in the Vanilla CIV....DOH!

Well it is working now thank you, this saves me a trip to the loonybin :crazyeye:

Has anything changed with regards to how text in loaded from a mod in the last few patches? I went to load up my mod that I hadn't worked on in a while, and none of the text would show up. However, last time I had loaded it up (don't remember patch number :sad: ) all of the text worked fine. I checked the ModInfo file and it said the game is loading up my text file. I checked in ModBuddy and the text tags match up with the tags in the Civinfos file.

The civs all load up fine and the game works.The mod is attached to this post if anyone can look at it.

Any help would be appreciated

What's happening? TXT_KEYs showing up? If yes, then check if you have any keys duplicated either within your mod or if they are already appearing somewhere else in the game.
If keys appear twice, the game will just not load any of the new ones.
 
Whoops. Probably should have mentioned that. TXT_KEYs for all of the new objects show up.

I'll check out the duplicating TXT_KEY thing. Why would Firaxis handle it like that? The Civ4 modding system seemed so much more intuitive. All mod data overrides vanilla data. If a knight isn't mentioned in the modded unitinfos, there is no knight in game.
 
When I install mods, the description of the new units, techs, ect. don't display correctly. I've tried this with several different mods and all it displays is the code for the description. For example, in the "Beyond the Future" mod, under the section displaying the statistics (resources req., science added, ect.) for the Hi Tech Store building, instead of displaying a description of that building it displays "TXT_KEY_BUILDING_HITECH_STORE_DESC". What can I do to get them to display right?
 
So I downloaded the Celtics Civ and Hukkak's 15 Civ mod and whenever I try to use on of the civs or a unit from them thye come up as TXT_KEY_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH this is annoying me and I know it shouldn't be this way, I really want to enjoy the mods but I don't see a way to enjoy them through this what do I do PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
 
When you're seeing the TXT_KEY values directly, it's nearly always because you have multiple mods (or one mod and the core game) attempting to set the same text key value. You especially see this with new Civilizations, when they might have added a city name that some other mod was also adding. So if mod A is trying to add TXT_KEY_CITY_PASADENA to the "Nerd" civilization, while mod B is trying to add the same key to its "California" civilization, then whichever one is loaded last will fail. (The entire XML update for the second mod will fail, meaning everything in whatever file contained the bad text key.)

But it's also very common after a patch, in general; for instance, before the last big patch, Granaries had no HELP entries (the little blurb you see when you mouse over an icon on the tech tree). But after the patch, they do, so any mod that attempted to do the same would now cause this bug. Many mods simply haven't been maintained recently, and so are now unusable because of bugs like this, and I'm pretty sure Beyond the Future falls into that category, since its thread here hasn't been touched since January. This is the Mod Browser's biggest failing; you just can't tell whether a mod is compatible with the current game.

Don't use Hukkak's original mod. It simply doesn't work anymore (and parts never did). He apparently abandoned it.

I've completely rewritten it as Hukkak Revised.
