Hello, guys. I want to keep up some awesome story as well. Just as you guys. I'll use continents and everything else at standard (prince if I'm correctly). The first poster gets to decide my civilization. Please remember that I'm going for a diplomatic victory. Over the last few days I kept restarting, because of some small errors, but that's no fun. When I start with this, I'll keep going. Heck. It's my second campaign ever. How can I not make any mistakes in it? I'll update regularly. What's a nice gap between turns to use here? Anyway. Go first and you'll decide the first step.

Edit: I wanna start now. Please hurry :P.

For diplomatic, I would assume someone like Ghandi would be well-suited. :)

Right. I began as Ghandi and my spot to begin with wasn't too bad. It turned out to be really good, at least in the beginning, but I'll get to that later.

I did my usual. Tried to crank out a scout, got a worker going and went to explore with my warrior. He became a spearman (ruins of course). My first barbarian encampment wasn't that much trouble. It got me a nice upgrade. The second one got me bad. Long story short: my scout gets ambushed by their camp and another unit. When my warrior gets there (he was healing from the other camp), the scout gets killed and I end up losing my spearman too. Great.

Vengeance. That's what I wanted. My scout found a new encampment (I raided their old one while they got out to destroy my scout) and my brand new warrior went over there. The plot thickens however. They turn out to have the still damaged unit from the other camp, a fresh one and some in the base itself. I got the two outside and ran back for the hills afterward (in the red). A small victory at least.

This was the big advantage I was talking about. My peninsula is locked off from the rest of the continent with only that passage through the hills. Excellent. Until they get navy. I encountered the indians in the meantime. They didn't go for my pact of cooperation. Eqypt did want my gems however and they gave me a really nice deal for it. No pact however.

This is my kingdom at turn number fifty. I should think about buying those tiles in the hills. Then they can't get on my peninsula anymore. Where do you guys think I should put my second town, on the peninsula or outside of it? I'm also building a small army. Ramesses basically said to me he smelt blood and came to my borders with units. I don't trust that fellow.

Also: is this way any fun for you guys to read :P? Else I'll just keep my adventures to myself. I really like reading the other stuff on these boards and so I thought I'd do my share.

Indeed I did. They are turning out to be good friends, but they are kinda taking up all the space above my choke. My second town is near my first one and great minerals which I'm already trading. I'll update tomorrow (almost at three digits). Should I colonize other continents now? Like two cities extra, a total of four. Got around a thousand gold now. Not too shabby I think. I'll get me some allies when those Eqyptians start to get messy with me.

Well I probably would have suggested Greece for a diplomatic victory because of nations bonuses with city states, but it still looks to be interesting!

Things have been quite dull. The Iroqouis wanted a pact of secretly. I declined. The Eqyptians will declare war on me soon enough and then I'll just buy the loyalty of the two city-states next to him.

My scout got rid of some barbarians and I founded my next city: beautiful Mumbai. Right near that beautiful world wonder east of it. It seemed fitting and the resources are quite good.

A golden age dawned. That means I'm doing somewhat well right? I finished the pyramids with some spare production and sold stuff like horses to Ramesess. I'll just that money against him as soon as I have to, but how can I piss him off more quickly? Building and waiting around is getting boring.

My boat has almost made a trip around our continent (it can't cross seas) and encountered some ruins on an island. Let's get embarking soon. Some barbarian boats attacked it, but it survived two of them so far. Let's hope things get rolling soon, one hundred turns in now. I'm the 'busiest person' by the way and only second in most progressive. At the moment I'm pumping out another settler. Where shall I use him, also on the peninsula or above?

I'd get one city to Block the Peninsula and get the Fish (on the Northernmost hill hex between Sheep, Fish, and Gems)

I'd stick with only one other city after that to get the wine on the eastern side of the Peninsula.

That island with the ruins on it must be New Zealand, it's full of sheep :P

Lol. I guess you're right. Thanks for the tips, but I had already moved on. I hope I didnd't screw up too much :P.

Chapter III - War is amidst us

Our introduction proved to be challenging, chapter I was entertaining and after the lull of chapter II we finally move onto interesting grounds: war! I saved the game after Ramesess finally decided to come after poor little me. Maybe you guys can be my military wisdom in the years to come.

Vijanayagara was founded. I decided to occupy the choke point. It has some nice resources and now no one can enter my little slice of heaven with absolutely no useful resources like iron. Huzzah.

Somewhere along the way the Iroqouis had a little scruffle with the Eqyptians. They took a city from the tree huggers. I decided I had to take actions to make things interesting and provoke some excuse for me to take over some cities. Actually hoped my neighbors would be mad about my choke point, but they are keeping friendly with me. Let's annoy those damn piramide builders then. (Even though I made those before them. Teehee.)

This was my strategy. Iron for all and some irritation from Ramesess to boot. Something strange happened however. He first asked me to form a pact of cooperation, then he got mad about my city after he builds another one right beneath me, ended the pact and of course declared war on me. Finally. My swordsmen are already sharpening their rusted blades.

I will probably lose this city, but I'm planning to attack him from the south while he seems to be focusing a lot of his military power on my poor little colony. How do you guys think this more challenging chapter of the Indian empire's life will end? I certainly don't know.
