This is the best city I have ever come up with. No WB, just an amazing spot. It's not my capital either Tell me what you think, and if you have one that's better.

actually i disagree with emp's sig. america would have one of the most influential cultures, if not the most. look at the rest fo the wolrd. who do they emulate? america. sure europe has history and a great culture, but to compare it to civ, they built all the early wonders, where america has built a lot newer ones plus many broadcasting towers. though there is soccer...

IF THE USA HAVE a dominant culture, they all thank that to the Old World. Come on, the American 'culture' is no more than a small sappling taken from the giant tree of European culture and tradition.

I prefer to call it "modern-western-culture". After all, the USA is a nation, France is a nation, England is a nation, The Netherlands is a nation, etc, but all these nations are part of one civilization: the modern-western civilization.

In the game, this civilization is represented by the USA. Of course, the English and the French are also in the game, but they represent their respective civilizations before they together formed what is now "western civilization."

Thats how I always interpreted it.

I have a game with a killer city that make that one look relatively common. Imagine a capital city with three religions, wall street and oxford. My religion is spread to a total of 72 cities and I enjoy the civic bureacracy.

Run Caste System, make all those Scientest Artist, and keep adding artist till you get break even in the food box, then you'll have some nice culture

Science City/GP Farm on a specialist economy. My science production was higher when I was running Caste System, but Julius won the UN election and passed a resolution preventing me from keeping it. Still pretty impressive though. Philosophical + Parthenon + Pacifism = one great scientist every 10 turns or so for a much of the mid-game. As you can see I built an academy and settled a dozen Great Scientists in my capital over the course of the game. Coulda settled half a dozen more but I started lightbulbing later on and I built some academies in my other science cities.

But what is really impressive is 31 POP! I could've had 33 but my war with Toku (go figure) whittled my pop in London down to about 5-6.
