How do you rename transports/ galleys etc

In C3C there's a button marked ABC (maybe you need to have the extra buttons activated in the prefences to see it).
There's a keyboard shortcut too...maybe shift-n or something.

I don't remember if the button was in PTW or vanilla Civ3.
