well, im sitting here in 6th period, and i just realized, i know nothing about the napoleonic scenario, for example, who is all in it, i know for sure france, russia, austria, and england, but who else is in it and who are you guys going to be the first time through?

England in Britain I think. As for other the Dutch get one city, the Kingdom of Naples is in and so is the Ottoman Empire as well as Spain and Portugal and Denmark. And Prussia.

The British, Naples and some other civ is locked in an alliance but most of the civs are neutral when the game starts though every one hates France I have been told. In the Scenerio not real life.

French Coalition (France and Denmark) are locked in an alliance against the British Coalition (Britain, Netherlands, Portugal, and Naples). Austria, Prussia, Russia, Spain, Ottomans, and Sweden also appear and are initially neutral. The map apparently starts pretty full. Alliance victories are the goal.

If I play, I'll probably try France, although Austria looks appealing too.

Full; if you have seen a screenshot the map is physically full. And you can't build settlers as well.

The thing that is strange about the scenerio is that all civs are in the industrial era and so their cities look like cities from the 1870s not the 1800s when there would be few if any factories. I'll probably mod the graphics because it doesn't look realistic. Also of not is the fact that most of the terrain has been improved as well.

From Sulla's screenshot, we can see the units Imperial Cavalry and Voltigeur (French Infantry).

We learn something more every day, about the MOST anticipated scenario.

But still, can anyone from Firaxis answer why Northern Egypt was left off the map??? There were some BIG battles over there.

Why don't you join the Grognards team then ?
We intend to do a mod with a set of scenarios (a campaign from Revolution to Egypt to Empire). And something more precise and more appealing (look at my units + we have Portuguese and Prussian by statusperfect)

I suspect the map was big enough as is, and Egypt would probably force too much of the middle east and Africa into the map.

Apparantly in the MesoAmerican Discovery Conquest the map included China originally but was far to big.

Plus if you look at the Napoleonic map the French have enough to deal with as it is.

The Napoleon scenario starts in 1800, therefore they were ablle to leave Egypt and Syria off the map with no problem. I just can't figure why they would still have the industrial city graphics though.

Exactly. Medieval doesn't really fit that well but goes much better than industrial. Like I said I shall probably add custom graphics.

He was an Englishman fighting in Spain

Are you all sure the Dutch are in it The Batavian Republic (Netherlands) was a French vassal state since 1795 if I'm not mistaken. In 1806 Napoleon put one of his many brothers on the throne of the new kingdom of Holland. The Netherlands was not a sovereign nation in this period so if they are in for some reason they have to have a locked alliance with France.

does anybody of the UU in this scenario?

The French have this sort of infantry that begins with a V .

I just got the game and tried out Napoleonic Era. It isn't bad, too many people and now leaderheads really of the foreign advisor screen:crazyeye: quite confusing

There aren't any UUs specific to a Civ, almost all units are unique.

In the standard Epic game, a French swordsman is equal to an English one. In Napoleonic Europe, almost no rifleman (and any possible cavalry) are equal.

what are all the civs and their respective leaderheads?

They don't have leaderheads - they only have flags.

There was a screen of it kicking about somewhere in a thread called 'new French leaderhead' or somesuch either here or at Apolyton.

Not even an Austrian head to be seen - which is odd given their supposed to be 'the eighth official civ'.

Edit - To answer the second part the civs are IIRC

France ( and allies )
Britain ( and allies )
Austria
Prussia
Russia
The Ottomans
Spain
Kingdom of Naples ( non-player? )
Portugal ( non-player? )
Sweden ( non-player? )
Norway ( non-player? )
The Netherlands ( non-player? )

Edit - Can't figure out this damn attachment system.
