The NATO dissolved today by 5 of the charter members after a border tiff sparked nationlistic demostrations in many capital cities around the continent.

Turkey also withdrew from NATO after pressured by other arabic states.

The U.S. president stated that due to the Asian crisis, the Europeans are on their own. U.S. military personnel and their families were evacuated today. The U.S. also stated that Israel is no longer an ally, and can fight her own battles. This isolationist attitude has branded the president as a traitor to humanity by world wide peace organizations. What shall this terrible news on the Diplomatic front bring to us all?

This is C.A. Flat reporting.

I call Egypt...Israel looks a bit vulnerable to me!

:D

I had wanted to wait until the end of Civdip002. But with names piling up, I'll call Turkey (egypt is looking kind of vulnerable)

Ive never heard of this game where do you get it and how do u get icons for your name

As for the game: use GOOGLE to look it up, quite a few sites connect to it.

As for the icons next to your name...8 more posts and you can choose yourself an Avatar.

P.S maybe someone not needing to rush to the shops for food can explain more.

hmmm....I think Spain would be an interesting challenge. If no one has that I'll take it.

Newsflash!

The widely anticipated European Summit has been cancelled as not one country gave ground in some of the hotter issues in today's Europe. Now it is up to the United Nations, who are busy trying to save the precarious situation in Korea. Will Europe be able to prevent history from repeating itself?

Who knows for sure?

Standing on the U.S.S. Vincennes located near Bremerhaven Germany, this is C.A. Flat reporting.

This morning, the last U.S. forces are being removed from Europe. These elements of the 1st Infantry division, like most of the ENTIRE U.S. armed forces, will be heading immediately to Japan, where the U.S. continues to build up it's forces in response to the fighting in Korea.

"The situation here is dire, and without a third party to mediate, things may spiral out of control." stated one senior Pentagon official.

He also stated "And with the implementation of the Israeli Merkanaz shoulder fired missile system in most armies, air power has been rendered virtually useless."

"Many countries, previously ignored due to their tiny airforces, now have the power to fight back. And that's a bad thing."

U.S. Satellite photos show that NEARLY EVERY COUNTRY IN EUROPE has been secretly mobilizing their forces in expectation of this crisis. Training exercises are being held on many borders.
The situation is truly explosive. We can only hope that Europe will not combust into the flames of war.

President Bell was unavailable for comment, but one white house aide said the President is not "overly concerned" with the situation. The aide went on to state the he feels that "everything will be o.k., it's just World Cup season."

The World Cup of Soccer, which is being held in Tel Aviv this year, is still scheduled to take place later this Spring.

One can only hope that this brings a feeling of togetherness for these European nations.

From the deck of the U.S.S. Vincennes, this is C.A. Flat reporting.

Notes: The xxx's on the ends of the addresses are for "bot protection" I have been getting an annoying amount of spam lately, and I suspect that the lousy bots have been picking up all of our E-Mail addresses from here.

The first deadline (Spring 1994) will be Wednesday 13 June 0001 GMT-5 (EST).

ALL press will be CCed to the GM (I am a voyeur at heart:)).

Demetrius, I NEED your E-Mail address. Please either E-Mail me, or post it here.

33 Centers are required to win. This game will not end in a draw, due to the highly improbably stalemate lines.

All rules from the standard game apply, and the blue lines on the map are canals, which a fleet may pass thru. Take special care about WHICH coast your fleets are on.

I HIGHLY suggest that you download realpolitik. This is a complex game, and I will be providing a map during every move. D-Loading Realpolitik will give you the opportunity to plan moves, test theories, and get the names of territories correct.

Good Luck to all!!!

P.S. I highly encourage you to post stories to FLAVOR the game. Those of you who are NOT members at civfanatics, can send me press releases, and I will post them for you.
