Natural wonders of the world.

death valley
the giant's cauesway
bay of fundy
Mount Fuji in Japan
Mount Kilimanjaro
the greate lakes

natural wonders/disasters
Krakatau
La Palma

of course some of these don't need to be named.
the tallest mountian in the world/on each continent
the widest and tallest waterfalls,
the largest freshwater lakes,
largest coral reef
and just have the civ that first discovers them name them

It seems like a nice idea that if coupled with good graphics would make the game look and feel better.

The great rift valley, blue hole (in Belize), the white cliffs of Dover, the Nile, all spring to mind.

I saw a book "1001 natural wonders you must see before you die" which would make good source material. As if anybody has that much time on their hands! ;)

just have the civ that first discovers them name them

That could be pretty cool, too.

Throw in the odd meteor strike too...:D

Anyway, Something like the Nile would be great, it would supply massive amounts of food and trade, it was the sole source of food for the egyptians, and the fastest way to travel too if I remeber right.

On another note: There is a natural wonder of the world that doesn't exist anymore. It was a series of steps built naturally into the landscape but it was destroyed by a volcano. Does anybody know what it was called? Thanks.

There was the Pink And White Terraces down here in NZ that were destroyed some time ago.

Rift Valley - 2 science, 1 culture.
Old Faithful - 1 culture
White Island - 1 science (for those who don't know, White Island is an active, smoking volcano in the Bay of Plenty)
