Near-term economic changes

When facing a much weaker opponent, any unit with a marked strength advantage will do as long as the defender doesn't have the countering unit type. Mounted units with a 10-6 strength advantage are just as powerful as foot units which are 8-6 advantage, plus we can upgrade knights to cavalry later.

Yet, the enemy got feudalism and so on. I prefer more good infantry for a while, I do not see yet the massive need for knights.

Even with these near term economic changes I'm not sure we should continue this was indefinitely as has been suggested. The cities we are now looking to take are of lesser and lesser value, with higher distance maintenance costs. Germany and Rome are both much weaker than before, no matter when we decide to finish them off it shouldn't be a huge challenge. Once we are able to get a tech from Germany in peace talks, it seems to me that a decent period of peace should follow and allow us to regroup our economy and our army. (Decent is 10-20 turns IMO)

I would say 12-13 turns of peace, that would be perfect timing.

If I get workers to build the necessary roads up to the front, that would help.

How about Munich, it has a huge potential as a production city, and it's even further north, coppertown has maxed the amount of hamers it can produce

No it hasn't. There are still a couple more watermills to be built.

Or I could spam farms and run priests/engineers specialists.

Ok well Coppertown has nearly maxed it's production! :)
