I'm really pissed off right now. I have been having problems installing beyond the sword because of the patches and I was told to try downloading v1.61 patch. Now I have dial up, and when I was like 97% done with the download the damn thing accidentally disconnected like it occasionally does. It said download was complete but there was still like one more mega byte. so I guess it wasn't a complete file. then I thought it wouldn't work and it currently doesn't still. Is there anyway I can finish just the last part of a download if I already copied almost all of it?

I don't think there is if you d/l using the program itself. Try d/l'ing from this site, as your browsers download manager should be able to resume downloads that do not complete.

when I download something with the manager, although the site says the size is, for example, 5 mb, the manager (using dial up) does it in two seconds and says that the filesize is about 17 kb. it doesn't seem to actually download the file...

Too bad you don't have a USB stick and access to a PC with a high speed internet connection. A download manager will at least let you resume a download if your connection gets interrupted.

Forgive me, I don't know much about Torrent, but... doesn't there need to be someone seeding it?? :crazyeye:
Download managers and torrents are two very different things.

as said earlier download managers and torrents are 2 very different things. However to answer the question at hand. No torrents do not theoretically need seeders as long as all the peers combined can finish off the torrent. However in practice seeders are almost always needed.

Yeah but he suggested Torrent.

Anyway... it needs seeders or peers... but who says anyone else will even have it as a Torrent?

A simple search on a few torrent sites will answer that.
