I want to play the world maps in the senarios but I also want the civs to start in their historical locations. Right now I have the Chinese in South America, the Egyptians in the France, and the Russians in South Africa. How do I get the to start in the correct places.

Also when you pick a senario how can you change the barbarian level everytime I try I end up with a random map.

Finally how do all the downloads work. I really don't know what I am suppose to do with them.

Thanks in advance for any help you give.

Steve Dave.

For the accurate placement bit, I suggest downloading Marla's World Map. Built in to that scenerio is a realistic starting location option.
When loading up scenerios from your Civ III main screen, make sure to hit the 'Just play the game already' option. When you customize the scenerio, you are basically playing a standard game - random maps and all. I do not quite know why it works this way, but it does.

Now, as far as downloading...
Make sure, when downloading something, to pay attention where on your computer the zipped file is being sent. For example, many people have a 'downloads' folder in their C drive.
Download the file, open up the folder where it was saved and locate the file, open said file with a program like WinZip.
I unzip the file to a temporary location/folder (like C:/unzipped), open that folder and check inside. More often than not, there will be a ReadMe file of some kind that tells you exactly what to do, as far as where to place files in your Civ III folder.

Never having to deal with this, it may sound very complicated. Rest assured that once you do it once or twice, though, you will be a pro.
