Need help making buttons

Hello,

I am currently working on a mod, and I was wondering if someone with some buttonmaking skills would be able to help me out a bit. I have ~ 10 .pcx images that I need converted into Civ4 buttons. I'm a ****** when it comes to image/graphic editing. Any one who could help me out with this would be a godsend, and of course you would receive credit when I release the mod.

Thanks woodelf, I've seen that utility, but I really have no understanding of layers and alpha channels and the like... it's really all kind of Greek to me. If anyone could point me to a clear tutorial/guide that explains these things clearly that would be great. I can use GIMP to convert the .pcx images to .dds files and resize them correctly but I don't understand how to get the image onto the border and make it look like the ingame buttons.

Have you already made the buttons and they just need converting into DDS with alpha? I could do that if you want, or do you need completely new buttons?
