need help - reinstalled and having trouble

hi all
I built a new system and I installed civ 2 ( my favorite) on it.
anyway, I cannot seem to get my settlers to go on automatic ("K" key )
any suggestions??

Have you tried it with the menu?
In the menu: Orders-> automate settler.

Don't use it - assign all the settlers yourself
It's hard work if you have many, but the function isn't that goodanyway. Unless I have a lot of pollution to clean up, they seldom do what I want them to.

What do you mean by "built a new system", did you write an OS yourself, or did you reformat your computer?
You maybe should try the question in the technical forum.

I tried the menu also - does not work.
by new system I mean a new computer system, all new, so all programs had to be installed all over again.
and so I cannot understand why my automatic feature wont work.

it's a long shot ,but it may help if you apply the latest patch on it.
