Hello everyone, I've recently began trying to beat games Ive already won on harder difficulties and I'm having a hard time with the Prussians. Trying the same strategies on Emperor difficulty has lead to multiple defeats.

The main issue I'm having is the Tech UHV for the industrial era. I find myself unable to create a strong enouh tech rate to compete with France and Britain. Closest I've come is just two techs (Nationalism and Journalism) and that was with bulbing. Hard to bulb with you need 7 great people 2nd UHV.

I guess for my next play through I need to go straight for France but usually when Im done with Austria, France already has rifles against my fusiliers.

I think one of the keys Im somewhat neglecting is possibly cottage growth?

Anyways enough ranting from me, looking forward to hearing everyones feedback. Need to drastically improve my gameplay if I'm to come out with a win on this one.

Tldr; need help with Prussian UHV goals specifically goal 3 industrial era, any advice is appreciated.

My strategy is something like this (for the 1700 AD scenario):

Revolt into Despotism, use your initial army to raze Copenhagen (it's eating Hamburg's cows), attack and capture Amsterdam. Take a small break while you tech to Fusiliers, whipping Levees and Factories into your cities while you tech. Whip happiness buildings and run your culture slider high enough to ward off unhappiness. Then build/whip a galleon fleet and invade England. With all of this great land you should have no problem snowballing your way into outteching/conquering France, and you should be able to outtech America while consolidating Central and Western Europe and building all of the wonders you like.

Disclaimer: I play on Marathon, these strategies may be void on faster speeds.

Forget about Austria and Italy, you can clean them up later. France, UK and Russia are your main objectives. Personally I prefer France -> UK -> Russia, although @Zaddy seems to think otherwise, I guess try both and see what works.

I would save Russia for very last, when you'll have Panzers and aircraft vs their Riflemen. Trying to consolidate so much (not amazing) land with one-movement unit stacks, Russian attrition and relative military tech parity seems not worth it. Better to wait for the end of the game, when Central Planning makes their land quite good imo. Maybe it would be alright on non 1700 AD starts would be good, because Russia seems to lag behind in tech MUCH more than the 1700 AD Russia would suggest.

The reason I would prioritize the English over the French is simply because you can consistently defeat the English with more-or-less your starting stack in 1700 AD, while the French can roll you pretty easily unless you spend a lot of time building up an army. The English are also a bigger competitor for the tech goal in my experience and have a tendency to build a lot of wonders with their tech lead which you would rather have.
