Hello peeps o.o.

I am not a Warmonget despite the fact I am a fascist and dislike democracy in civ games and real life ( respect that as I respect you ).

My main goals in civilization 5 is here
1. I focus on economy always, so for goal 1 is strong economy. I try getting a steady economy before I expand my civ. As time goes on and I discover new techs I unlock polices that I want.

2. Expanding time, I settle 2 cities so I can get a bigger border and more resources and explore with a scout. And I usually have 2 workers building mines etc.

3. Change to fascism time! Once I do this my civ has a. Strong economy and a happy capital which would be Madrid. I start making allies with CC rather than other civs As they betray you sometimes and i hate that!

4. I always build defensive units than offensive because I am not a warmonger. I set my own goals ( I role-play). I always build little defensive units in all my cities I usually have only 5 cities.

Total outcome is strong economy, fascism with a weak weak army!!! I want a strong army not huge huge like literally 5,000+ but a decent amount so I can defend my self with needing a ally to defend me I want to be dependent and have other civs asking me to protect them.

So basically I built a wealthy Fascist civ, weak army. Then war comes and I lose.

Why? I had no suffienct army and only units I had would be nukes. So could you guys help me out by giving me some lessons?

This applies in civilization iv, and civilization V.

P.S it would be wicked awesome if someone would be willing to conquer the world with me in multiplayer :D!

Okay, sounds like you aren't playing to win but roleplaying some kinda Franco fascist alternate bizzaro world. That's cool, I can dig that.

Sounds like you want to stay small to start off, defend and focus on developing your economy as best you can given the restrictions. You don't want to fight offensive wars but are looking to improve your defence.

Try this - Build stonehenge or the pyramids at the very start of the game. Stonehenge might be a better choice as it'll help send you through the social policies you want and will push out the borders of your capital. If you're playing on prince/king/emp you can get away with manually building this wonder or alternatively you could take the right hand side of Liberty and pick a great engineer to do the work for you. Up to you.

This wonder that you've built adds a great engineer point to your city. Beeline towards Chivalry, with research agreements if you know how to, or just focus on going that directions if you're playing on lower levels. By the time you've gotten there a great engineer will have been born in your capital. Use him to build Himeji Castle. This wonder combined with oligarchy, which i think buffs your garrisoned city attack, will really make it difficult for anyone to mess with you in your own land. Throw in the great wall if you can for extra fun.

Thanks, ill use this strategy once I buy Civ 5 again :)!
P.s
Franco sucks with his rule even though he helped allies and the axis WWII
Thats what I think but I'm still proud of my country long history :D
