Buy civ 2 right now! it's like 9 dollars for the cd gold edition, and It's SOOOOO much better than a call to power.
instructions for patching any CtP game.
1.lay flat on desk
2.place drinking glass on top
You have just upgraded total crap to a useful coaster.
Yes buy the other ones.
Civ2 has MP.Tons of scenarios,mods etc.
Civ3 has...um..well its ok.
Buy civ2 Multiplayer Gold Edition and start MPing.There is nothing in the civ series that comes close to civ2 mp.Nothing.

I agree, excellency.
C2P is a waste of time. Civ 3, I have not decided yet. I played it a ton the first few weeks and the computer took a huge crap on me. I was killed so bad. It is probably a good game but I just need time to get used to it. Civ2 will always be a classic in my eyes. No new game can come close to its glory.

well maybe I was a little harsh.There is some good stuff in CtP...just not very much.There are some user made mods that make the game alot better....thats not really saying much though.
Try out civ2 first.It will be dirt cheap as mentioned or fairly available by...um..well you know.The community is large and established.Multiplay is far from dead.
I personally don't like 3 as much as 2 but it is pretty good.Might be just as well to wait until the game is finished before forking over $40+(depending on where you live)

If you go to www.Apolyton.com, they have several updates for CTP2 and they aparently have an active CTP2 forum as well...(btw I learnt this from someone posting in the CTP forum here so don't blame me if you cannot find them).
Buy Civ 2 and Civ 3.
