Trying to get the worldseed from an old C3C v1.0 save, but not having any luck.

Utilities i've used:

C3MT -loads file but I don't see a seed number

CivAssist II -doesn't load the file (error = Unknown file version, patch to latest version)

CRpSuite -loads file but I don't see a seed number

SeedBeast -doesn't load the file (error = Failed reading save file)

All four tools load file versions C3C v1.22 just fine.

Anyone know where I go from here?

Other Q's:

If I did get the seed, would it work in v1.22? Even if it doesn't, I would still like to know what the seed number is.

Is it possible to convert a 4000 BC regular save into a 4000 BC autosave?

Is there a file where one can quickly copy/paste the list of cities for all civs?

If you have the original vanilla CD and the original C3C CD, you could install and not patch C3C. Then load the save. IIRC the conquest ini should have the world seed.

One more comment. If you use the same world seed in a fully patched version, you will likely get a very close match, but not identical. You might see some changes in resources, and maybe some slight ones in land forms.

Tried that on a second PC, clean install, up to C3C v1.0 and though it creates the ini file, there is no worldseed inside the ini file. On the first PC (currently v1.0) the worldseed is from the last new game played. Second PC is fully patched to C3C v1.22.

Edit: Just to be clear, second PC was v1.0 but currently v1.22

I'm afraid of that, but it is possible that the changes may be for the better.

Any other ideas?

Was this a custom-made map, or just a real good random generated map? If it was a custom map, and you have not done any more maps in the editor, the world seed should be preserved in the editor when you go to generate or make a custom map. If it was a randomly generated map, and you have done all of that, not sure what else to tell you. I do have an early version of C3 for the Mac, but not sure if that would help.

As for differences in map seed between versions, they are not that bad, and sometimes help a lot.
