Hi,

Can I send a netsend message accross the internet to another computer (I know th IP) if they are not on a local network?

You trying to tell a bad hacker to stop?? LOL ..i tried that, assuming it wouldn't be blocked. I couldn't get it to work though, i'm afraid! Any ideas anyone?

No you can't. The computer must be on the same network as yours.

Speaking of net send, I got busted twice in the last week for sending network wide messages at school (which get send around to every computer in the school district), one of which wasn't directly my fault (and also happened to be a very vulgar message) and the other was just a simple "." (period). The one which wasn't really my fault includes a story too in depth to go into here.

There is a way to do that through a bug in Windows Messenger (the system service, not MSN messenger); it's how the spammers that were sending messages through Windows Messenger sent their spams. I don't remember how, though, and I think SP2 may have plugged the hole involved (and if not, then if the person is running a firewall, that will block it.)
