Is it possible to run a multiplayer CivIII game on a network? A friend and I are considering networking our two PCs, and we're wondering if it is possible. Also, what would be the best type of networking to use for mulitplayer games?

I wonder the same thing..

I have a LAN at home, 2 computers... 1 CD.. can play on both computers at the same time.

But wheh I try to make a LAN game with a friend, I cant SEE the hosted game on my other computer. (and vice versa)

Why ??

Find a no-cd patch...

If you are networked correctly (can share files, etc) you should see each other on the multiplayer main chat zone. I play often with my rommmate without any particular problems. I suggest that you disconnect the Internet from both computer (if the setup is so that the Internet and the LAN exist at the same time) since Gamespy (which is there even in local network play) tends to interfere, slow down, and often crash/desynch the game.

If you can't share files between the two computers than your setup is not correct, you won't be able to play.
