I had actually offered Kabaka Muteesa I as an alternate Ugandan leader (although Kabaka Suuna II and Mwanga II were quite interesting and compelling, too, and could also make good leaders - Suuna was also a bit bloodthirsty and ruthless, but he was certainly no Idi Amin Dada, and not remembered by Ugandans nearly in such a vain), but I believe these alternate choices were just ignored by @Henri Christophe, which is unfortunate, and shows a poor grasp of Ugandan history and people. Since I've known two Ugandan-Canadians, and one Rwandan-Canadian who lived as refugee in Uganda for about 30 years before immigrating to Canada, none of whom were shy about talking about the country, I feel I may have just a wee bit of a better grasp on things there (just like, having known two Zimbabwean-Canadians willing to discuss "back home," I can say for certain that having Robert Mugabe as a leader there as being a bad idea is NOT just an external stereotype - I also suggested a couple notable Shona Kings as alternatives for that slot - again, ignored by @Henri Christophe. :S ).
What the heck is wrong with him... to think modern dictators are the same as Ghengis Khan.

I think Ugandan people would be INSULTED if he out of all the leaders were to become a civ leader. Forget controversy with Korea and France... THIS would be a mess!
Never said they wouldn't be. It'd be righteous fury and rightly so. Idi Amin was a terrible person all around.

Anyways, Catherine de Medici was actually a solid regent who steered France through religious turmoil and civil strife. And for Seondeok, I've seen people here wish for Seondeok before Rise and Fall was announced.

The people in Paraguay still praise Solano López as a great leader.
By the way, we praise warmongers as Gengis Khan, why not praise modern warmonger as Idi Amin? He can be alternative leader of Scotland:lol::lol:
The difference is that when Genghis Khan was around, people were far less concerned about warmongers. Everyone warmongered back then, and the morals were different. Idi Amin was a modern-day leader who should have been a better man than he was, but then he decided to become a brutal dictator up there with Pol Pot.

Also, Genghis Khan died in the 1100s to the 1200s. Nobody alive today cares what he did because it didn't affect them. Idi Amin died in 2003. nuff said

And most Mongals actually respect him for uniting different Mongalian tribes under him- and creating largest empire by single man is a big bonus.

Sorry for ignore you Patine, I really don't know that much about Uganda history. I'm googleing theses leaders you said about.

Africa need more leaders and we need to debate about each possible nation to discover witch one is the best to come next in Civilization

I'm pretty sure we don't need to debate that Idi Amin is a terrible choice for Uganda, just like Henri Christophe would be a terrible choice for Haiti... wait-

(No offense meant for the Haiti joke, it's just a joke, please-)

hahahahahahahahahah
For Haiti the best option is Toussaint L'Ouverture!
I choice to my profile Henri Christophe because I like to remember Haiti history don't end in the revolution.

too bad everything when to crap when a certain French king doomed it... ( yeah I am looking at you Charles X... you BASTARD!)

The French (except the very small number of "Legitimistes," still kicking around) aren't very fond of Charles X, either. July, 1830 was a big show of this discontent, and I don't believe he's been reevaluated to be made more popular since. In fact, wasn't the July, 1830 revolt the backdrop of the climax of "Les Misérables?" I can't quite remember, now.

Let's speak about Malik Ambar, the Oromo guy who was enslaved in Ethiopia and become king in Deccan (India) and fought and won the might Mughal Empire!

Now, this is a guy who's accomplishment make him worthy of being in Civ 6! :D

Not as a Leader, however, but his own scenario. My reasoning being that he ruled such a small part of the land in India that he couldn't be considered to be a Leader, and his state died with him, so that's another thing.
But he deserves his own scenario.

I would like to play with both of they, I just don't realize how controversial Idi Amin Dada can be, I think he is handsome guy. I would like play with him in a domination victory easy.

Well, I don't know what to say there... :S

But I agree we have another leaders who should come first, let's just forget Ruanda for while

Kagame IS still alive! And "Ruanda," is how the German and Belgian colonists spelt the nation's name. The official, recognized name and spelling of that name is "Rwanda."

Ohhh sorry, Rwanda in Portuguese is Ruanda too XD

Kagame should be an amazing leader, unfortunelly we need to wait he dies. African have very good options for modern leader as well.

Yes, but most of them are before the 20th Century, regardless of the VERY recent (and in some cases, highly unpopular and controversial) ones you seem to focus on. When I suggest pre-colonial leaders for such nations (which I've done several times), you just ignore them and just keep babbling about the modern ones in a very out-of-touch and unrealistic way.
