Yeah, I have yet to see it activate. I'm not sure if I have misunderstood the condition of it, but I have been having enemy units moving in to the tile next to the unit on alert without waking up
Maybe they forgot to program barbarians as "enemy units" or something? It is truly amazing -- it is like someone burned the source code from Civ V and they are starting from scratch -- how bizarre.
Just tested. My warrior did not wake up when a barbarian unit moved adjacent to it. It also did not wake up after a barbarian slinger attacked it, and then when a barbarian warrior attacked it. Doesn't work.
The release of this game has been pretty insulting.

So for SOME people the alert function WORKS, for others SOMETIMES, and for some (like me) it DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.
So our computers have already developed a mind of their own and decide which users belong to the chosen ones who get to use the alert function?
Skynet sends its greetings....
