New Civilizations Mods

I've recently been adding new civilizations mods to my game (colonialist legacies civs etc.) which mostly work quite well.

I've also tried to add some additional civs such as those provided in the Patria Grande: Civilizations of the Americas (Mexico, the Muisca), Tomatekh's new civilizations (the Goths etc.), Pouakai's more civilizations (India civilization pack etc.) and JFD's Civilizations (The Empire of Russia, The Soviet Union etc.)

I'm finding that when I download these mods and start a new game, on turn 1 I cannot produce any buildings and sometimes receive an odd txt string error messages in the tech tree.

Do we know if these civ mods are compatible with CEP, and if not, are there any plans to make them so as they provide a great amount of content to further enhance the game.:)
 
I've been play-testing the Colonialist Legacies civs and I think most of them work along with CEP, are there any specific problems you have encountered?

As for the others, CEP uses a lot of checks in lua based on many different database values. Most, if not all, the problems are the result of the civ modders not including a rarely used database value. Again, with specific details just about any of the problems can be fixed.

As the problems are not always the same with all the different authors, it isn't a case of one cure for all.
 
Thanks for the reply; I know you'll be particularly busy now trying to make progress on the mod!

I did some further tests this afternoon on a range of new civs. After each test I cleared the cache to ensure no contamination.

My results were:

Colonialist Legacies - Generally these work great except for Mexico. When I start a new game as Mexico I cannot build any buildings or other (research or wealth). In the research option I get an option labelled " TXT_KEY_TECH_FORBIDDEN_HELP" and containing the icon for the hacienda UI.

Patria Grande: Civilizations of the Americas, Tomatekh's new civilizations, Pouakai's more civilizations and JFD's Civilizations - When starting anew game I cannot get any of these civs to work as the option to build any buildings or other (research or wealth) is missing. In addition, when I have one of these civ mods installed and I start a new game as a vanilla civ (eg. England) the option to building buildings or other is also missing.

When loading certain civs form these mods I also get a strange error on the select a civ screen. All but the first two civs in the game are shown for selection. Using advanced setup I can select from the entire list of civs from the drop down menu however upon starting the game I still encounter the no build building or other issue.

I have tried a number of civs and generally receive these errors with them all so I'm wondering of they have a common issue that is making them incompatible with CEP.

If its possible for these matters to be investigated/addressed that would be great as there is a lot of excellent new civ content out there.
 
I'm no modder, I just download the mod and put it in the corresponding folder so I cant really add much but I have been using JFD's civs (Stalin, Lenin, Frederick, etc.) and I am having zero problems. I will also note though that Im using 3.14 version of the mod.

Just figured Id add my two cents!
