Vital Votes:
Assyria: the Worlds first empire. +Military, Siege, Science
Aborigine: [arguably] the Worlds oldest civ. +Culture, Faith, Exploration, Survival, new play style. Unlikely, so I wrote 9.
Berbers/Morocco: the rebellion - TSL approved. +Trade, Faith, Survival, Piracy, etc.
Italy: the spark of the Renaissance. +Science, Trade, City States/Diplomacy, Culture, Faith, etc.
Iroquois: the New Worlds democracy. +Military, Trade, Diplomacy
Haiti: the Worlds first post-colonial nation. +Defence, Faith, Policies/Culture

Other Options:
Benin (/Ashanti/Hausa/...): the isolated crafters. +Culture, City Planning, Defence
Comanche: the south-wests horseback empire. +Raiding, Nomadism, Borders, Faith
Timurids/Mughals: the Wonder building 'nomads'. +City Planning, Military, Culture

TSL Tally
+2 in North America & +1 in the Caribbean, +2 in Africa, +1 in Australasia, +2 in Asia, +1 in Europe
Tibet/Nepal/Burma are all good alternatives for Asia. Hawaii/Tonga are easier than the Australian Aboriginals.

Aboriginals could be difficult for many reasons such as the taboo against naming the dead
Yes, a Leader would be a challenge. A disclaimer or mask or legendary leader would be required. The best hope I found is Yingana, as a legendary leader, but that may be out of the question too.
Yet, there are many mechanics in Civ VI that could fit Aborigine abilities: Ancient Ruins, Natural Wonders, Domestic Tourism, Forest Fires, Works of Art & Music, Pantheons, Artefacts, etc.
Personal preference only. I don't expect them as a likely inclusion, at all. Anyway, I'll allow the thread to continue..
Edit - The Pueblo could easier fit some similar roles (desert survival, exploration, faith) but are also a no go for now

For TSL purposes the Navajo or Berbers could still work for this role.

I got a bit greedy and at first I voted for Assyria, Berbers, Canadian First Nations Tribe, Iroquois, Israelites, Papal States and Venice. After seeing some of the new options, I included Italy, Austria, Navajo, and Siam.

Assyria and Iroquois are the ones that should arguable be staples by now so it's no surprise that those 2 will be at the top of the votes right now! For leaders, it's a personal tossup between Tiglath-Pileser III and Ashurbanipal for Assyria and either Joseph Brant/Thayendanegea and Jigonhsasee for the Iroquois.

Morocco is my first choice for the next civ from North Africa but after them I'd love to see the Berbers with Dihya as the leader.

For me it depends on which civs count as a
Canadian First Nations Tribe. I know the Haida definitely count so I'd love to see them and Cuneah would make a great leader choice for them. I'm not sure if the Tlingit count but if they do I would have a slight preference for them led by Katlian. They were quite similar but my slight preference for the Tlingit would be due to my thinking that their history is just a little more interesting (the Battle of Sitka was kinda sorta definitely a big deal). I definitely wouldn't complain about the Haida though!

I'd like to see the Israelites specifically under Hezekiah due to their massive religious importance.

While not my biggest priority, I've grown much warmer to the idea of an Italian civ especially from the later Medieval/early Renaissance era where there's so much fun potential for leaders, city-state interactions, etc. Of the different Italian options, I think that
Venice probably has the best shot considering that they have already been in Civ V and Enrico Dandolo could be fun to see again! Similarly to the Israelites, I also voted for the Papal States due to the religious gameplay potential. I haven't thought too much about which pope I'd like to see or which would be the best choice but off the top of my head Pope Julius II seems like a fun choice. Just gotta mention that Lorenzo di Piero de' Medici leading from Florence would be another great choice.

Not gonna lie, I voted for Austria mainly because of Maria Theresa. Being a cultural powerhouse with so much history involving renowned musicians, art, ballet, etc. is good too but Maria is where it's at. Being a returning civ and leader gives them an edge but I'd really love to see gameplay focused around benefitting from political marriages that you arrange! Slightly off topic but I'd really hope that the civ game that includes Maria Theresa also includes Wahunsenacawh leading the Powhatan if for no other reason than he'd probably love those political marriages more than anyone!

The
Navajo are an easy choice for the SW of North America. The Hopi and Acoma are probably the only Puebloan tribes that might say yes but even that (or Firaxis willing to ask after the no they got from the Tewa) is far from certain. Plus the Navajo have such great potential around desert farming, wars both defensive and offensive, and bonuses from natural wonders, etc. Manuelito looks like the best leader choice to me.

Siam is another great choice and I'd like to see Chulalongkorn lead since he was able to ensure his nation's independence.

If these had been on the list, I would have voted for:

Morocco - Yusuf I - Great Islamic power that controlled much of Al Andalus and North Africa.
Powhatan - Wahunsenacawh - A powerful and perhaps the most famous tribe.
Natchez - Quigualtam - The longest-lasting Mississippian mound-building kingdom that drove off the Spanish.
Zimbabwe - Nyatsimba Mutota - A rich monarchy known for its "zimbabwes".
Benin - Idia - Powerful and long-lasting kingdom.
Burma - Bayinnaung - Largest empire in Southeast Asia.

I voted for

Assyria
Berbers
Haiti
Huns
Venice
Austria
Navajo
Siam

If they keep going as usual there will be 8 new civs and one of these 8 civs will have a leader who is also another alt leader. In my vote the austrian leader would be the alt for Germany.
These Civs are also quite well distributed imo.
Middel East - Assyria
Africa - Berbers
Caribbean - Haiti
Central Asia - Huns
Europe - Venice
- Austria
America - Navajo
South East Asia - Siam

Maybe you could switch the huns for anoher african (eastern africa?) or south american civ since we already have scythia and the mongols. Maybe even another native american civ allthough there is already one in my list.

Iroquois is more likely for Americas
You are probably right. Though at this point I think most people, including myself, would just be happy for at least one more and wouldn't care which tribe. Though I'd gladly take two. :D

I've voted for Assyria, the Goths, the Huns, Papal States, Venice, Austria, Afghanistan and Navajo

Assyria, the Huns, Venice and Austria because I enjoyed them in Civ 5. The first two because you can never have enough warmongering civs, the latter two due to their unique game play.

Concerning the others:
- The Goths: I like wild cards, it introduces me to (extinct) cultures that I normally wouldn't delve myself into;
- Papal States: An interesting extra strongly religious civ;
- Afghanistan: Another wild card. Honestly I wouldn't know what to expect of them, but that's what would make it interesting;
- Navajo: Some extra civ inclusion for North America.

I would actually prefer wild cards over the already included ones, because of what I mentioned at the Goths. Like for example the inclusion of Georgia or the Scythians in Civ6 - not something that I would have expected. So I'd enjoy other unexpected ones such as Armenia, the Moors, a Slavic Baltic state (like Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia or Montenegro), a Crusader state, Republic of South Africa, the Boers, et cetera.

Comanche and a PNW tribe either the Haida or Coastal Salish. This will help fill out the Americas.

Oman or Swahili. Muscat is already in the game as a city state but Oman did control the Swahili city states on the east coast of Africa.

Chola. India is mostly northern India. Southern India needs some representation.

Italy. Specifically Northern renaissance Italy. Florence, Genoa, Milan, or Venice can be the capital.

Berbers or Morocco. Returnee and fills western north Africa.

Goths. Could have a unique start like the Moari where you start with the bunch of military units and can only build settlers after you have captured your first city.

Ghana could be potential new-comer

what would you do with them

I dunno, mostly considered it just a possible concept, don't know much about them.
From quick wiki search:

Unique Ability: Cannot produce Settlers. Gains free Settler whenever they gain increased Trade Route Capacity (If they didn't recieve one from that source already). Can't form Domestic Trade Routes. International Trade Routes count as and act as both Domestic and International Trade Routes. Double Food and Production from Trade Routes, triple with Trading Post in the destination.

Unique Unit - Camel: Replaces Trader. No range limitation. +1 Gold to Capital when travelling in Trade Route per four tiles passed.

For a Canadian Native Tribe, I would like to volunteer either the Metis under Louis Riel or the Haida under Charles Edenshaw.
