New Colonies III (v3.2) PBEM

Even after the cowardly sneak-attack by the Iroquois, there still is a little goodwil for those savages in the French homeland.
No Iroquois troops were attacked, and peace is possible, if desired by the Iroquois.
If not, there is an entire invasion army heading from France to the New world.

Ahem, we usually aren't too excited about stacks of Dutch artillery directly adjacent to our camps. You were certainly ABOUT to do something, and you will now reap the whirlwind.

Besides, we all know that when the Iroquois are given to the AI you'll all hack them apart, so I'm not betraying you in any way by attacking for the last few turns I have them. :p

First of all I dont know what you are talking about with the Artillery. I have been slowly but sure moving military units to the new world for DEFENSIVE purposes only.

Second of all what the heck is the matter with your generation? A deal is a deal. And obviously you haven't turned over to the AI yet. Sorry but my trust factor with you has gone WAY down.
But hey thats OK. From know on the only good savage is a DEAD savage! :D

Darius, your action was quite fair (I got off a bit lightly, by the sound of it, as the instigator of all this trouble...).

The Iroquois are dead meat of course, but the Sioux are a fresh start, and I have no vendetta against them (apart from the usual European genocidal religious bigotry and hypocricy, of course). ;)

Ditto (mumble) Darn Savages (mumble)

Well, they were right next to my city and FORTIFIED. It tends to scare other players when you do this without asking permission. Everybody else look at this, would you allow this to happen next to one of your cities? Especially when you're playing a civ that's bound to get attacked eventually?

If you put those units there, either you were going to attack me, or you were just stupid. And like I said in Boney 7, being incompetent is just as risky as attacking me. :D

Whine whine whine, the deal was cancelled because you and I both know that you would have attacked the Iroquois the SECOND it was handed over to the AI. If you say you wouldn't you're lying, period. The situation changed and I didn't break any 'deal'. You're starting to sound a lot like somebody I know...

I know, I didn't even kill a single English unit; good play on your part. :( I felt bad beating everybody's ass for something you did but hey, perhaps they'll take it out on you. ;)

That was er a Hmmmm........

A defensive position thats right it was purely defensive.

Dont worry you will pay.:king:

OK, sorry for the delay. I must say, technical advance in this game is quite slow. It is 1683, and no-one has Flintlock yet! (Although I soon will have...:D)

Peace re-established with the United Provinces.

A new road in the New World completed, linking Boston to our latest settlement at Fort Buckingham.

No further campaigns against the Iroquois this year, as England consolidates her gains and improves the defences of her new forts.

Several Portuguese Men of War spotted cruising of the New England coast - and I don't mean the jellyfish! ;)

The Dutchmen have disscovered many advances in the unexciting (but important) fields of Drainage and Sewerage. We wonder if they might be persuaded to teach our Engineers about these matters? We notice they are still learning about the arts of Metallurgy, that the English have long mastered....There is opportunity here for much mutual benefit, for both of our small, Protestant nations....

OK great idea, do you want me to try and do an AI trade my turn?

OK, save first, then try it. Trade Drainage & Sewerage for Metallurgy. That should be a good deal for you, because you will get a flying start on your next tech, then two more quickly when you get the New World Knowledge Wonder. IE Flintlock/Bayonet.

Well, I have no money to spare. If you don't want to trade, fair enough. Those two techs of your are hardly crucial yet, as only London is at 10 population, and a long way from needing to grow.

Being a little tight aren't you John? And you know as well as I that you cant get farmers without drainage or sewerage or both. I know at least one is required.

But in the spirit of cooperation, I agree to the trade. All I expect is some wigggle room when I need it as the game progresses. Is that fair enough since you seem to be broke right now?

Im also wondering when all the Dutch special arrangements begin ala History of Colonization? Should I begin to whine yet?

Completed the Trade with England. John I also exchanged maps, seeing as how you were being awful stinghy, I hope you dont mind.

Began retribution against the Evil Iroquios. More to come.

- FOUR Dutch units destroyed east of Delaware. (Ever hear of forts, Steve? :p) The road that they used has been torn up.
- More Spanish slaves scalped, this time south of Choctaw Ridge.
- Completely unescorted Spanish arquebusiers wiped out south of Seminole Bay.
- French settlement at Point of Rocks burned to the ground.
- Shocked by Fort Buckingham's lack of a stockade, Iroquois braves pushed forward and captured it. We would have taken it back earlier but the British invasion caught us completely off guard.

Nope I never did.

Darius are you going to play the Iroqoius, The Souix or what? And just what turn are you going to make the transition? Or are you staying as the Iroquois now?

I wanted to do the Sioux, but now I'm actually having fun killin' whitey, and I can't do both. I guess I'll play the Iroquois to the death and leave, since I can't play both, and I don't want the Sioux to get even more screwed up by the AI over the next 20 turns that I play the Iroquois.

I'm curious btw, what exactly would be wrong with me playing both civs? If anything it could just be considered an interesting angle for this game to have human natives. It's not like it'd be 'unbalanced' or unfair for me to take both, since they're toast no matter what. I just thought it'd be more interesting for people to actually have to make an effort against them instead of having the game just be another AI native hack-fest. :(
