San Jorge may or may not turn out to be French. The mere claiming of it, without previous agreement on spheres of influence, is insufficient. It is actually closer to San Domingo or Barbados. If Spain were to take it on her turn, England would accept it. England might very well take it on hers.

Spanish Position:
In general terms, we support english statement. Like he said, it´s a FACT that Santo Jorge is closer to Santo Domingo than the french colony of Port au Prince. Moreover, it´s closer to Granada (Spain) and Barbados (England)

In my opinion, the city should fall into spanish/english hands.

English Buccaneers have taken San Jorge - but don't anyone feel too bad - the city was detroyed in the process.

Many French and English Merchant ships have been passing in the North Atlantic. Stopping to exchange good English rum for some fine Claret, we couldn't help noticing the large numbers of cavalry on board. Perhaps France is planning more conquests in the New World.....?

Aside from that, much trading activity, as English merchants attempt to rival the great mercantile empire of the Dutch.
