New Colonies III (v3.2) PBEM

Flintlock/Bayonet discovered.

Great advances in military technology have been made this year - but too late to stop the deposition of King James II. The Dutch Stadtholder William of Orange has been invited to take the English Crown by Parliament.

He enjoys right of succession by virtue of his marriage to Mary Stuart, daughter of our late lamented King Charles II.

The crypto-Catholic James has been deserted by Englishmen of all stations and occasions, and has fled to France.

Our Godly and Protestant nation looks forward to much sharing of knowledge and trade with our co-religionists and North Sea neighbours. [Steve, what can you offer for Flintlock? Economics would be good, and if we could negotiate a financial loan while I am at war...? I have rather run my Exchequer down while improving my military!]

The Iroquois raiders who killed our colonists have themselves been slaughtered by the troops of Fort Ticonderoga.

A huge seabourne raid has captured the settlement of the Delaware tribe, part of the Iroquois Federation. Working speedily with pre-fashioned materials brought in on the same ships, a sturdy stockade has already been erected to protect our gains. The Iroquois women (being too unattractive to Englismen used to the fair charms of their countrywomen :D) have been honourably treated and released with their young children. The surviving Delaware males have been interned in our ships, as a lesson to the savages in how civilised war should be fought....

;)

...and in other news, a new settlement has been founded at St.Kitts, in the Carribean. England would like to negotiate the lease of the adjoining islands to the south from their Spanish neighbours. We have a party of Slaves on standby to plant crops, and for a 10-year lease to work the crops on those islands once planted, to get the new colony started, we would undertake to return the islands to their current owners thereafter in a fruitful and productive condition.

You can't complete a unit within the same turn... Unless you mean it'll be completed by your next turn, but unfortunately the huge trap I set around Delaware should take it back before then. ;) Did it seem suspicious at all to you that a border city only had 1 war band?

.

Not really. It was just a raid to kill some red men and burn some canoes I found there, but when the city was empty I had an opportunity to refresh the health of a very weak veteran clansmen (which I then moved out) and put a stockade in that I happened to have handy.....

Huh, I thought stockades were naval like City Walls, my bad. :o

No you can put them to sleep and move by ship but they of course cant move on there own.

I think you can do that to city walls as well but of course you can build them.

Ho Hum

Many thanks to the British King for the excellent trade. It did a great Job of consolidating my empire. And yours as well.

There is still an English Slave next to Kingston I assume you will want to move him sooner or later, no rush, it helps protect against those dam pirate events! :D

John:
Did you receive my PM? Yes or No???

I´d like to talk about this...

Road between Providence and New Haven destroyed, and Fort Orange's food supply burned.

French economy finally begins to recover after about 5 freights were delivered this turn.
French military advisors stand perplex after seeing the huge change of cities between the Dutch and the English. Why the hell did you guys do that?

Conmcb25 is going out of town later this month. We are looking for someone who would be interested in playing as English in another colonies PBEM. The game is very far along, 1731, so whoever replaces conmcb25 would need to play often, we have a house rule of being ready to play once a day, except for Thursday.
