So this might be a silly question but did you plug the power from the PSU into the six pin connector on the card? The plug on the top back corner of the card.

No  Such a simple mistake.

My PSU does not have a 6 pin PCI-e wire. The dual 4 pin molex to 6 pin PCI-e adapter which came with the GPU isn't much help since this PC does not have 4 pin molex wires.

The PC does however have 1 SATA power wire left (thats the correct term for the power wires which connect from the PSU to the Hard Drives and CD/DVD drives right?)

Would this:

Be able to convert the SATA power wire and deliver enough power to the GPU?

I've never had to use one but that should do the trick.

Your PSU is 300w right? That's what the spec sheet for that PC says. That should be enough for the 250x.

That did it. It works now.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who helped me out with this. It was a bit more of an undertaking than I thought it would be and I know that I wouldn't have gotten as good of results if I hadn't ask about it first.

Thanks everybody :D

Congrats! Now you know basically enough to build your own should the desire ever arise. Seriously, this is about as complicated as it gets.

One caveat: down the line I would advise buying a beefier power supply. 300w is cutting it close. Should suffice, but close. 450w around $50-$60 or something would do the trick. Reputable PSU manufacturers include Seasonic, FSP group, Silverstone, Antec. (Silverstone's are often just re-branded FSP group psu's).
